Adam will perform a showcase of his percussion works with live computer processing. This showcase will feature Mitochondrial Dreams and synapse_circuit.
Showcases presented by LocalArtsLive are known for their wide variety of classical music, and the third concert in the series, scheduled for January 25, 2013 will be no exception. The evening will include the ancient instruments of the harp, the voice, and percussion. OK, well the kitchen utensils that Adam Vidiksis will use may not be ancient, but drumming on found objects goes back to the beginning of mankind. Early man, however, did not have the computer wizardry to transform those sounds into the entirely new sonic experience that Vidiksis will create. Center City Opera Theater’s young artists, will perform well known arias and may even invite the audience to join them during the choruses. Elizabeth Morgan-Ellis is an advocate for contemporary harp music so you can be sure that her performance will be unique. There is no dress rehearsal, and I often do not know what the musicians will perform prior to the showcase. Join me in the adventure, and be ready for a unique experience in a casual environment. Come as you are and talk to the musicians at the reception immediately after the concert. The ballroom at William Way LGBT Community Center only seats about 100 and this lineup can’t be beat for the price of the discounted advance tickets.
