Somewhere in the universe, the laws of the jungle reign supreme. Humans and apes maintain a wary co-existence, each wavering between seizing what they want and being hunted like prey. That somewhere may be as close as FDR Park. The Renegade Company, with Chris Davis and Sam Henderson, will mash-up the classic films Planet of the Apes, Tarzan the Ape Man, and King Kong into a theatrical expedition out-leaping the wildest imaginings. Our simian-sapiens storytellers will blend Philadelphia with science-fiction to create creatures at war with themselves and with their natural world. Featuring a collaboration with Jig-Bee, a Kensington flower farm and CSA to create art amongst the dilapidated park. Wear comfortable shoes, prepare to get dirty, and don’t stray from the path.
*To note audience members will be walking approximately 1.5 miles and through woods, dirt, and rock. Closed-toe shoes or sneakers are strongly recommended.
