Cybersounds – BEEP Inaugural Performace
Tuesday, November 19, 2013 @ 1:00pm
Rock Hall Auditorium
1801 N. Broad Street
Philadelphia, PA 19122
This Cybersounds concert will feature two works by Vidiksis. The first is a fixed media work, Stria [feather] remix, a reworking of John Chowning’s 1977 classic written in Csound. The second work is a structured improvisation composed for the inaugural concert performance of the Boyer Electroacoustic Ensemble Project (BEEP).
BEEP is a vehicle for electroacoustic music creation in a collaborative environment. We embrace a variety of aesthetics, from IDM to the avant garde. We function in varied modalities: from a laptop orchestra, to hybrid acoustic and electronic chamber ensembles, to an electronic music band.
The concert will also include Richard Pressley’s the flattery of fire, performed by BEEP and selected from our international call for scores. Also on the program are works by Annie Neikirk, Ryan Olivier, Andie Taylor, and Sandy James, as well as performance by harpist Liz Morgan-Ellis.
