Vidiksis will premiere Kyle Bartlett’s Bright Counterpoint with Dan Blacksberg and Sun He.

Created by Shira Walinsky and Miriam Singer, the murals at the Southeast by Southeast location depict the landscape of the motherland and the journey to the United States. The community surrounding the Southeast by Southeast mural is diverse and includes, Bhutanese, Nepalese, and Tibetan refugees. The composers who are creating new works and connecting with the community in this area are: Kyle Bartlett, Chuck Holdeman, Michael Kiley, Anthony T. Marasco, and Jonathan Pfeffer.

The concert (from 3PM to 5PM) will be held on Saturday, October 11th and will occur rain or shine. In conjunction with this concert is a walking tour of several murals that make up Southeast by Southeast (1PM) as part of the 2014 DesignPhiladelphia Festival.

Parking: Street parking is available on streets surrounding the mural.

Southeast by Southeast is accessible via the Broad Street (Orange) Line: Synder Ave stop. From the Synder stop, walk east to 7th St. and north to Emily St. For detailed directions and options on multiple modes of transportation, please use the Google map directions below.
