Henry Ossawa Tanner: Letters of Influence
2019 N. College Avenue
Philadelphia, PA 19121

Vidiksis will premiere Maximilian Maksutovic’s new work for Mural Arts with musicians Gideon Whitehead, Timotheos Pertin, and Julia Li.

Created by Keir Johnston, the Henry Ossawa Tanner: Letters of Influence mural features a color palette found throughout many of Henry Ossawa Tanner’s works and depicts his connections to music as well as the difficulties he experienced as artist in a racially charged Philadelphia. The mural also incorporates words of youth from the Restorative Justice program. The composers creating new compositions and offering workshops for community members are: Charis Duke, RJ Johnson, Maximilian Maksutovic, and Monnettee Sudler.

The concert (from 3PM to 5PM) will be held on Saturday, October 18th and will occur rain or shine.

Parking: Street parking is available on streets surrounding the mural.

The Henry Ossawa Tanner: Letters of Influence mural is accessible via bus (33, 61) and via trolley (15) at the Girard and 20th Street stop.
